Parkinson's Quick Reference Cards (UK) used by physiotherapist


On www.parkinsons.org.uk are very useful information for Physiotherapists working with people diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. There are The Quick Reference Cards (UK) indicating how to take a patient's history, do a physical examination, and plan and carry out treatment. The cards directly support clinical practice at any stage of Parkinson's in the clinic, on the ward or in the community.

The Quick Reference Cards (UK) are as following and they consist of Phone FITT; General; Practice Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPPAQ); History of falls questionnaire; Short Falls Efficacy Scale – International (Short FES-I);
EQ-5D tool; Parkinson’s Disease Questionnaire (PDQ 39); Tragus to wall distance measure:

1: History-taking.
2: Physical examination
3: Specific treatment goals
4: Treatment strategies

Parkinson's UK developed the cards with AGILE (Chartered Physiotherapists working with Older People) and ACPIN (Association of Chartered Physiotherapists Interested in Neurology). The guidance is based on that developed by the Royal Dutch Society for Physical Therapy in 2004.
